| Findings: A 7 month old infant in care fell asleep in a floor bouncer glider seat during the inspection. This was at 11:45 am. Licensing Specialist reminded the provider twice that the child was not allowed to sleep in the seat and should be moved to the play pen. The child remained in the seat, asleep, until approximately 12:35 pm. The child's parents arrived to pick him up at 12:45pm and provider removed the child from the seat at that time. Provider is reminded children under 12 months who fall asleep in a furnishing other than a crib or playpen should immediately be moved to an approved resting place. | Findings: During the inspection, Licensing Specialist observed the cabinet under the bathroom sink and the cabinet under the kitchen sink to be unlatched. Both cabinets contained cleaning supplies and other potentially hazardous items. LS latched the bathroom cabinet in the provider's presence during the inspection. LS also observed a long, sharp knife and a pair of scissors on the kitchen counter during the inspection. These items are hazardous and the provider has children present and enrolled that are tall enough to reach the counter. | Findings: Licensing Specialist is here today for an unannounced monitoring inspection and a full inspection. The provider has been on a compliance agreement since 2007 due to overcapacity of children under 2. When this Licensing Specialist arrived at the provider's home today, she was present with 7 child care children, including three children under the age of 2. These children are 2.5 months, 7 months and 23.5 months old. Provider stated she was 'told by other providers' that she could have a child who was over 18 months and that child wouldn't count as a child under 2 and that's why she took the other baby. Provider called parent to pick up the 7 month old. LS also spoke with this parent and explained why the child needed to be picked up and why the provider could not have more than 2 children under the age of 2 in care at any one time. The 7 month old child has only been in care this week, per his attendance sheet. Provider should disenroll one of these children until the 23 month old turns 2 or work out a schedule with parents so only two children under 2 are present at any one time. The 7 month old child was picked up by his parents at 12:45pm, while LS was present. | |||
