Description: Since 1991, Good Shepherd has adopted a strategy of developing out-of-school-time programming as part of a broader effort to help vulnerable young people succeed in school. Our after-school programs keep children and teens safe and help them strengthen academic, leadership, cultural, and career awareness skills –improving their outcomes in school, at home and in the community. We work in partnership with each school to provide educationally rich environments that create seamless links with the regular school day. These programs help to reinforce lessons learned during school in new and creative ways while at the same time providing opportunities for young people to expand their horizons, learn new skills and nurture special talents and interests. Special events and shows during the year help to highlight our students’ accomplishments and provide opportunities for parents to take pride in their student’s achievements and to feel more comfortable in the school. Our summer camps keep children and youth safe and engaged during the summer months when school is out.
