Description: The YWCA Tonawandas will be offering their School Age Care Program to bring high quality, safe, affordable and dependable school based care and enrichment activities for elementary school children. The program is not custodial care or an extension of the regular school day. The childcare staff prepares weekly plans, which include a wide range of supervised activities. These activities include indoor and outdoor sports and games, an afternoon snack, arts, and crafts, special holiday projects and a quiet time for reading and homework. All activities are designed to promote self-esteem, appreciation and respect for each child's background and culture. The YWCA School Age Care Program is registered with New York State and complies with all regulations set forth by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. Child care staff is continually trained in CPR, first aid, child development and program development. Applications are available at the YWCA or located below is an online printable version.
