Description: Whiton Elementary School, built in 1997, serves the needs of students in pre-kindergarten through third grade. Our educational program is structured to provide a solid base of knowledge on which our students will scaffold future learning. The students are engaged in age appropriate curriculum that provides many opportunities for success. As educators of primary aged students, we have a commitment to ensuring that all aspects of a child's learning - intellectual, social, emotional and physical - are supported each and every day.
Whiton Elementary recognizes our responsibility to ensure that each child learns. In order to facilitate this learning, students are engaged in differentiated instruction within the classroom and, if needed, have the opportunity for additional academic support through enrichment, reading recovery, supplemental instruction, and/or the programs of our Student Services department.
Whiton has a dedicated teaching staff who work diligently to help students become the best learners possible. Our students are well prepared to become critical readers, intuitive mathematicians, creative writers, and insightful thinkers.
