I love this childcare center and so does my son! My son has gone here since he was 8 weeks old. He will be moving to the Preschool room this month. He has learned so much from these caring teachers. I never worried about leaving him here because once he could he would run into the teachers arms in the morning. (Thanks teacher Tom!) The staff really do care about the children and are helpful with developing routine, potty training, good habits and fostering independence. If I forget something or we run out, they always have a clean spare (bottle, pants, shoes, wipes ...). My son is already fighting his naps, but where I fail they show incredible understanding and skill in getting him to nap more often than not. Amazing! They never complain about any extra needs my child may have, they seek to make each child's experience the best it can be on any given day.
My husband and I were really excited because we thought we found a wonderful daycare when we visited university nursery coppertop. The teachers seemed nice, we liked the facility, the children that were awake seemed happy (the others were napping at the time), and they appeared to have enough staff for the amount of children in the room.
Our 2 year old daughter has been going there for only 4 days and we are not bringing her back.
My husband and I picked our daughter up earlier than usual today (about 5:30pm). We went down the staircase to where the toddler area is and on our way down, the supervisor of the facility was walking up the stairs with 4 toddlers following her, including our daughter. The supervisor looked surprised to see us, but not happy to see us.
My husband and I were very excited to see our daughter and picked her up to hug her and kiss her. Immediately when I picked her up I felt that her pants were soaking wet. My daughter had wet herself, but the thing is, her pants were not only soaked in urine - her pants were soaked in COLD urine.
There were three teachers there at the time (one was in the toddler room preparing to leave for the day) and not one of them changed her before having her walk up the staircase? It's unsanitary, could have given our daughter rashes, neglectful, and cruel.
I have two older children so I'm not overly protective, I just know what happened should have never happened.
My daughter is never going back there again.
