Welcome. Welcome. Welcome. TJ’s Childcare is a family daycare that provides learning, love and fun to all children. My goal is to provide your child/ren with quality care, in a safe, friendly environment, so that you may attend work, or whatever your daily schedule is, without worry.

Findings: The provider was in the process of having her hall bathroom renovated. At arrival, the construction worker was not renovating the bathroom, but, during the inspection, the construction worker arrived & worked on the bathroom. There were hazards such as mechanical tools, etc. located in this bathroom. The provider stated the children were using her master bathroom located in her bedroom. The provider stated this was the first day, since the onset of the inclement weather, that the children have been in care. The provider was not willing to allow the Specialist to observe her master bathroom. The Specialist discussed with the provider about what her best course of action would be, since she does not have an approved bathroom. The provider stated she would have the parents pick up the children early. The children were napping during this inspection. The provider stated she would close her child care until the bathroom was completed. The completion is expected to be this weekend. The provider stated she will send a photograph of the bathroom once it is completed. If it is not completed this weekend, the provider will remain closed. The provider will email the Specialist with her plans.

Findings: Due to the provider's hall bathroom being under renovation, the provider stated she was allowing the day care children to utilize her bathroom located in the master bedroom. She stated she was not allowing the children to go in this bathroom without her supervision. The provider was not willing to allow the Licensing Specialist in her bedroom in order to observe the bathroom. The provider stated her room was messy which was why she did not want her bedroom to be observed.

Findings: During the inspection, an individual arrived at the provider's home and the provider stated that this individual was her substitute. This is not an approved substitute. The Licensing Specialist explained to the provider that all substitutes have a clearance process that must be adhered to and they need to be approved prior to them being utilized as a substitute. The provider submitted all of the required paperwork regarding this individual during the time of this inspection. The provider stated she had the paper work in her possession, but she never submitted it. The provider was asked how long this individual has been working as a substitute at her home and she stated for a few months. As discussed at today's inspection, all substitutes must be approved by our office prior to them being utilized in that capacity. The provider stated she understood and would adhere to the regulations.
