| Findings: During the inspection, it was found that two drawers in the kitchen, which contain knives, have a safety mechanism on them, but it is not working properly. Subsequent to the safety mechanisms not working properly, the children could have access to the potentially hazardous items. When this was brought to the attention of the Provider, she immediately changed the safety mechanism with a new one for each drawer. They are now properly working. | Findings: When the Licensing Specialist arrived at the home, the Provider was outside on the playground with two children playing while the Provider was carrying another child on her hip. After talking with this LS for at least 10 minutes, another non-resident child emerged from the home. That child is a child care child who is only two years and seven months old. When asked where that child had been and if she was sleeping, the Provider stated that child went inside the home to use the bathroom. There was no one else inside of the home. This supervision issue was then discussed with the Provider. When this LS was leaving the home, one of the resident children (1 year and 9 months old) and the two year and seven month old child went outside playing on the driveway. A 1 year and 4 month old child was then left asleep in her high chair without any adult with her while the Provider was then trying to get the other two children back inside of the home by verbally redirecting them while remaining on the front porch. Please write a letter of correction stating how you will become in compliance with this regulation in the future. | |||
