St John's Christian Preschool

The St. John's Christian Preschool, located at 700 S. Defiance Street, Archbold, Ohio, was founded in 1989 as an outgrowth of the mission and community service ministries of St. John's Christian Church of Archbold, Ohio.ÿ The Preschool is administered by an advisory Board comprised of members of St. John's Christian Church, which sets policy and offers support to the Preschool staff.ÿ It was set-up as and continues to be focused on being a Christian, non-profit, interracial, interdenominational, and non-political institution. The purpose of the Preschool is to provide children ages three, four, and five with a preschool program that will enrich and extend their physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and creative growth and development.ÿ Each child is viewed as an individual; the Preschool's specific goals and objectives are unique to each child.ÿ Basic Christian values are stressed and Christian holidays are observed. The Preschool offers a traditional pre-kindergarten curriculum focusing on experiential learning, socialization skills, letter sounds and numbers, and creative play (including music, field trips and computers). All of this and more is done while making faith connections with children in everyday preschool events.
