Description: Shepherd’s Fold began in October 1990 as a ministry of our church to provide quality, affordable child care in a safe, nurturing Christian environment for parents who work outside the home or go to school. Unlike the public school system, there are no restrictions on prayer, Bible stories, and sharing the Gospel message. Shepherd’s Fold currently uses the Faith Alive curriculum published by Concordia, as well as many other age-appropriate learning activities. Since its beginning, Shepherd’s Fold has served hundreds of children. This is the first place for many of these children to hear the Gospel message. Shepherd’s Fold currently offers care for infants through age 5 and works with DES to help families who need subsidized child care. We also serve hot meals for breakfast and dinner as a way to ensure all children in our care are receiving nutritious and well-balanced meals. Our children are the future of our country. Research consistently shows that the first three years of a child’s life are critical for future learning and for social and emotional well-being. Our ministry through Shepherd’s Fold is an important one. Please pray for it regularly.

Currently the Director deserves closer scrutiny, as well as some of the employees. The Pastor of the church, board members, and Child Protective Services should do surprise visits to ensure daycare workers are not short with children. Also workers need better supervision to ensure they are providing educational development for children, NOT just sitting around half asleep. It may be a good idea if the health department pays this Daycare a visit. The Director requires admonishment about nepotism, her son is her employee. The Director requires counseling. It appears that she failed to properly train her assistant, which was let go after little service at the Daycare. Now it appears the Director's son may take that position.
