| Findings: Complaint alleges that sometimes things are broken and there were safety concerns. Upon inspection, licensing specialist observed in room 2 the front part of the floor near the windows was sagging and cracking. The floor was pulled away from the wall and there was a visible gap in the floor/wall area. The toys in the area were at an angle leaning due to the floor sagging. Licensing specialist pushed on the area with her foot to see if the floor was stable, and heard a cracking sound. Licensing specialist immediately asked the director/owner to block off the area and make it inaccessible to the children. The director immediately had her staff make a border that made the area inaccessible to the children. Director was immediately on the phone and contacted a contractor who will be here at 5:30. Licensing specialist then immediately called the supervisor for region 1 James Chester to ask for advice on how to proceed. Mr. Chester stated he would come to the center. Mr. Chester advised the area needed to be blocked off and be inaccessible, and the center under no circumstances is to reopen tomorrow until the room is completely fixed. | |||
