Description: Montessori at Sandy Ford is based on the philosophy and method developed by Dr. Maria Montessori during the first half of the twentieth century. Inherent in this philosophy is the belief that children develop most fully through the active engagement of their whole personality. The unique components of the Montessori system are the prepared environment, specifically designed didactic materials, the Montessori-trained director, and the child. Many wonderful developments occur as the child experiences the Montessori environment. The prepared Montessori environment allows children to follow and engage their interests and to succeed on their own as they learn through the process of trial and error. They develop at their own pace, to their fullest potential. Children become self-disciplined and motivated, confident and compassionate, decisive and focused, and aware of self and of the environment.
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. We encourage families to contact the daycare provider directly with any questions or concerns, as the provider may have already addressed some or all issues.
