The McKeesport Child Development Center is dedicated to providing model development care for each child in a stimulating, safe, learning, and most importantly, loving environment. At MCDC, we believe that each child is a unique individual and best learns through play and exploration of a variety of materials and environments. An all-staff training was held on April 24, 2026. During this training, all staff members were instructed to always know the names and whereabouts of all children under their supervision and to use a dry-erase board to track children in real-time. Staff members were also instructed that they will be responsible for keeping their classroom doors closed and secured at all times. Classroom teachers were instructed to document all children currently under their direct supervision, including those transitioning in and out, by listing their names on a designated dry-erase board to maintain accurate, real-time tracking. Children are now escorted to and from the classroom by a designated staff member during transition and at the time of pick-up or drop-off.
