About the Provider

At Little Cubs Preschool we believe that children learn best through play. Equally important, we feel that a safe, nurturing environment that provides opportunities for children to learn and develop through activities which are age and individually appropriate is important as well. Our program provides a rich inclusive environment that promotes children's active exploration in all areas of development: physical, emotional, linguistic, aesthetic and cognitive. Little Cubs Preschool teachers show their respect for all children by encouraging them to think for themselves, make decisions, work toward their own situations, and express their own ideas and feelings.

Our program is child centered and flexible. We use a curriculum that is integrated and introduces meaningful projects that sparks the children's natural curiosities, interests, and enthusiasm. While introducing various topics and weekly themes, the children explore by hands-on experience within the classroom centers and circle time. We feel that learning opportunities for children are endless. And even though it may seem like they are just playing, in reality they are developing and polishing many skills needed for formal education.

We believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success. Having open communication with parents is very important and critical for each child's success. This is done by continually keeping our daily communication connections open. Our open door policy allows parents the opportunity to come in anytime to help out in our classroom, visit, or observe their child whenever they would like to. We strive on offering a warm and welcoming environment to our preschool families, educators and community members while respecting the diversity of each and everyone's cultures and beliefs.

The knowledge our families share with us about their children is greatly appreciated. We use this information to enhance and enrich our program. We also seek input as well as feedback of any and all aspects of our program from our families.
