About the Provider

Description: The Arc Montgomery County Karasik Family, Infant & Child Care Center is an inclusive, family-centered child care program integrating typically-developing children, children with developmental disabilities and children with chronic medical conditions. The staff includes pediatric registered nurses and trained child care providers. Program activities include academic instruction, communication skills, music, fine arts, drama, computer skills, science, cooking, and outdoor play and gym time.

Every child enrolled at KFICCC has the opportunity to thrive. Classrooms are divided so each child is placed on individual needs, rather than strictly on chronological age. In 2012, Montgomery County Public Schools launched the Building Bridges program to provide seamless delivery of services to preschool children with Individualized Education Plans who are enrolled at KFICCC. The class is led by a special education teacher, supported by para-educators and KFICCC staff. Typically-developing children join the program for three hours each day.

The progressive, well-equipped program is funded through private paying clients and grants from the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the Maryland State Department of Education. Parents can also apply to other agencies for grants to help defray the cost.

Karasik Family, Infant & Child Care Center is licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education.

I am an employee

I volunteered with the company for 11 weeks about 5 years ago. I loved it and it was a wonderful experience for me. I was assigned to work with the 2 year olds. After i graduated from the ameriacore program I was hired as a subistute teacher and then hired as a full time teacher. The night before I was leaving the daycare I cried myself to sleep that's how attached had become with the children.
