What a scary introduction to daycare. My 6 week old went into this home for daytime care based on my ex's belief since he met her at an EMT class she would be ok.
Long story short, the gal wore my daughter, on the several days she didn't even bother to take her from the basement at all, (that's where one of the older kids said they kept the babies to keep sleeping). So my daughter was always so lethargic when I came to get her I was not yet clued in I did 3 random drop bys when I knew something wasn't right. Thanks to a young child or 2 there saying it in no uncertain terms.
The first visit no one answered the door. No one was in the house. And when I called out Harmony ran in with my newborn, in an ergo in a front carry facing outward. Hip dysphasia be damned. No other children followed or were seen. I took her immediately. Not even knowing the way she was carrying my daughter was wrong. I just knew something was wrong.
Second random visit - her husband was watching the kids with the neighbors. Hmmm I didn't know the next door neighbor would be watching my kids without warning. And she acted extremely unstable. But I still gave these people the benefit of the doubt as my ex said I might be over protective.
Third random visit - no one answered the front door. I walked in and a number of older kids were playing. The only adult in the home was the creepy next door neighbor man with 3 beer bottles in front of him sitting at the back of their dining room table. He stayed there. I asked where Harmony was. He shrugged his shoulders. I got very scared. I asked where my daughter was. He said nothing. I walked past the kitchen to the dark basement. Harmonys husband suddenly appeared with my daughter. She was so out of consciousness she barely registered I was there. I never returned her to this place again. I found no signs of physical or sexual abuse.
My ex vehemently disagreed with any tests to validate. I acquiesced. I never let her near them again. Something was very wrong. I can't document it other than this. But it makes me sick to my stomach still.
