About the Provider

God commands us to raise our children properly: "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6
The members of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church feel strongly about the importance of providing that Christ centered academic foundation to nurture our children spiritually, mentally, and physically. We also felt that many in our community would be interested in a Christian academy, where their children would be raised in God’s Word, “to the Glory of God”. Out of this need arose Dei Spring Academy.
After much praying, planning, and plenty of hard work; our preschool opened on September 4th, 2007 with one student. The Lord has since blessed us with more students and an additional child care center.
A little bit about our name… Zachariah spoke these words at the naming of his son, John the Baptist: “And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Highest; for you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways, to give knowledge of salvation to His people by the remission of their sins, through the tender mercy of our God, with which the Dayspring from on high has visited us; to give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” (Luke 1:76-79) Dei is the Latin word for God, which comes from the name of our church Gloria Dei: to the glory of God. Spring comes from our location, Cold Spring, Minnesota. We chose the name both to indicate a connection to our church and a connection to our community. We also chose the name Academy to depict our willingness to educate our children according to the highest standards of traditional learning and methodology.
A little bit about our logo… The cross of Christ is the center of our crown of life. Through Him, we raise daily in His love. From Luke 10: 41-42: “Jesus answered and said to her, ‘Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.’” We learn from this that there is one thing more important than anything else: Knowing Jesus as our Savior from sin and death.
