Staff person #2 was certified again 6/4/25 in Lifeguarding (Including Deep Water) with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid through the American Red Cross since 2014 and had been accepted as compliant from 2014 - 2024. Although the American Red Cross is listed on OCDEL's PQAS Approved Pediatric First Aid and Pediatric CPR Providers and Curriculums list as a provider, the name of the training course on the card/certificate needs to read "Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED". The American Red Cross Professional Rescuers Fact Sheet (Case #17462472) confirms that the course: · "Trains participants with the knowledge and skills needed to provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies for adults, children, and infants until advanced emergency medical services (EMS) professionals take over." The certified American Red Cross instructor who trained Staff person #2 does not appear on OCDEL's PQAS Instructor Directory, the instructor was certified by Alycia Miller, SPDI, who is listed on the OCDEL PQAS Instructor Directory. Staff person #2 maintains additional CPR/AED certifications: · Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSI) o Adult & Child CPR & AED: 8/2/23 o Adult & Child CPR & AED: 8/5/25 These certifications are issued through the Emergency Care & Safety Institute, which is affiliated with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Emergency Physicians. Staff person #2 when in a child-care position will be supervised by an AGS who has completed all preservice training and has all qualifications to care for children unsupervised.
