Polliwog's Playground

I have used this provider for several years for my 3 kids. They are a great option for someone that has no family in town to help with the kids in a pinch. My kids ages 1,5,7 love coming here. My husband and I have used them for date nights, doctor appointments and other things that come up unexpectedly. I stay home with my kids so it's nice to drop them off and have a mommy break once in awhile without having to enroll them in a program like mom's day out, which is expensive! I wrote this review after seeing the other terrible review and just feel like our long term experience should be shared. I am very happy with this facility and the staff has always been nice to work with. I have also used the other drop in provider in town but like this one better.

What a horror of a night!!

We dropped our 16 month old son off at this care facility so that we could go to a movie. When we went back to pick him up I noticed two large bites on my sons back!

The only reason I noticed was that when they were handing my son to me his shirt rode up and in the middle of his back was one 50 cent piece sized bite! Then on further examination there was another even higher!

When I questioned there staff all I got was ... "We have no idea what happened... There was no one even around him". These were fresh and obviously hard bites that left deep teeth marks, scraped the skin, and left very dark red irritations!

It was obvious that it took time to raise his shirt, hold him down and deliver both of these bites which I am certain made my boy scream and cry! However, the only response we got from the staff was that they had no idea what happened or that anything had been wrong in the first place. When I touched them, my son jumped and cringed... They were inflamed and sore... It was again obvious he cried and yelled, yet no one saw or knew anything!

My wife and I were very upset... Needless to say... And felt like the staff was not showing the proper care and concern, so we asked for them to call the owner. The front desk person refused to do so saying that the owner was in a meeting, on a Saturday night, at 7:40pm.

Again, we asked for them to call the owner, and they said they would not do it now. So we asked to wait until they would and we were directed to wait outside!

We tried one more time to get someone who cared, and again, asked for them to call the owner or we would call the police. The front desk person responded..."I'll call the police and have you removed!"

We promptly left the facility and went to the parking lot and called he police.

After waiting for some time the police came and directed the front desk person to call the owner. What a mistake!

The owner came and came with attitude! After seeing our sons back, she never even said she was sorry or showed any concer for our son. In fact her comment was that it can happen in a second, and that they can't watch the kids all the time. She was completely rude and uncaring! She even tried in not so many word to say that the reason no one knew was because our son screams a lot and they probably didn't notice for that reason.

We left completely flustered and promising ourselves to never use this service again!

Please heed this warning... The staff and owner are rude, the supervision is lax, and your children are at risk if you use this business!
