We had a pretty good experience for almost a year. Then my husband showed up a little earlier than normal one day and heard one of the office ladies who was helping out in the penguin room yelling st these little pre toddlers to get in their seats for snack. The straw that really broke the camels bsck though, was when my son was transferred to the Monkey room and he seemed really nervous, about going. His grandmother dropped him off and he threw up. No one came over to help grandma clean up my son, but handed grandma a wad of paper towels. Grandma was not leaving him there. She had to arrange her schedule since this was unexpected. Then, we got charged for two extra weeks since we didn't give two weeks notice about leaving the facility. They inconvenienced us, and they want to charge us. When I went to pick up my son's belongings they were pretty rude and didn't even help me get this heavy bag off this high shelf. I am very short and was standing on my tip toes!! So fed up!! Don't go there! Please !
They are extremely unprofessional, as well as unorganized. We were given incorrect invoices on more than one occasion, claiming that we were behind on our payments. I paid by check and could prove that my checks had been cashed, but every time I tried to talk to them about it, they would say that they’d have to call me back (which they never did). We left and started at a new daycare which we love. When I asked my 5 year old if he is happier now, he said "Yes, my new teachers don't pick on me."
The owners of this center are not good people. They fire teachers left and right for ridiculous reasons. If a teacher talks to a parent for too long they get in trouble because the owner is paranoid that the teacher is going to disclose information to the parent. The teachers get in trouble if they put too much information on a child's incident report. The owners do not give the teachers the supplies and the resources that they need to do activities and art projects with the children. They blatantly lie to parents faces about what goes on at the center. They will tell a parent that their child was in a different room all day than the room they were actually in if they know that the parent would be upset. The cook does not wear gloves when preparing the children's food and the food is not fresh because she also combines the food from all of the rooms that is leftover after lunch and freezes it to use again. I could go on and on but I will leave it at that. If honesty is a quality you want in a center I can guarantee you this is not the place. And I can also guarantee you if you ask around, 75% of the parents who's children attend Small Wonders have caught on to what happens there.
I have 2 children that have been attending Small Wonders Academy for 3 years and we couldn't be happier! We love the teachers and the owners :)
My children have been going here for 2 years and they love it! With the new ownership I have seen so many great improvements. You can tell when the teachers truly love their job and the children. The owners are their all the time, which I really like because it makes it feel not corporate like so many of the other daycare's around here. I highly recommend Small Wonders for childcare.
