Description: North Country Academy's educational curriculum has been designed based on the following concepts: We believe that young children will learn best when the curriculum and activities are developmentally appropriate. This means that the learning activities planned for the children are matched with their biological and developmental age, their individual abilities and interests. We believe that young children learn best when they are involved in real-life experiences. Children learn by doing for themselves and this can be accomplished by involving children in daily activities utilizing a rich array of concrete objects and opportunities. We believe that children learn best when there is a bond between home and school. The child senses satisfaction and security when there is a confident, friendly, working relationship between parents and the school. We believe the most valuable lesson a child can learn during their early years is that school is fun, interesting and rewarding. Therefore, every aspect of our day is planned to encourage each child to experience success, to develop a positive self-image and to help each one develop the social, emotional, physical, creative and intellectual aspects of their personalities.

NCA of Queensbury is the worst daycare/preschool. Staff turn over is high. Management is awful. If your child sneezes they will be sent home! If your child acts out in the slightest way you get a phone call and have to leave work to pick them up at the drop of a hat plus you still have to pay! Staff does not even try to work with children to correct negative behavior. Children are expected to act like mature adults all of the time. The lunches are terrible and unhealthy. All of the food is processed and full of GMOs. Outdoor time is very limited. In the winter children go weeks without going outside. Classrooms are small. There are up to 24 kids in each room. There is very little teaching going on in preschool. I would not recommended North Country Academy to my worst enemy! Steer clear if you are looking for quality loving care. You won't find it here!
