Regulation: 3290.134(d) Description: Labeled toothbrush Noncompliance Area: An unlabeled toothbrush was observed in a child's cubby. Correction Required: A child shall have a labeled toothbrush if brushing teeth is a program activity. |
Provider Response: (Contact the State Licensing Office for more information.) Brushing teeth is NOT a part of my daily activities. When the child was first enrolled in my program, the parent brought a brand-new toothbrush in a bag. The toothbrush was in the child's labeled cubby in a cube that also had the child's first name labeled. With the toothbrush underneath multiple changes of clothing, I forgot it was in there. Plus, again since it is NOT a part of my daily activates in my program, I completely forgot it was underneath all the items. Since it was brought to my attention that it was underneath all the clothing, I sent the toothbrush home with the child's parent the very next morning. |
